On Wednesday, Microsoft released an urgent security update for all current versions of Internet Explorer outside of their normal monthly schedule. There are active exploits that take advantage of this vulnerability. COSINe has set the update to be installed automatically on SCIENCE domain computers as part of the standard Automatic Update process. If your computer is configured for manual updates, please make sure to run Windows Updates. Concerning non-domain computers, most Windows machines are pre-configured for Automatic Updating. However, if you are uncertain whether your computer has the latest updates, please manually run Microsoft Windows Updates.
